Job summary

Toledo Tool & Die, located in Toledo, Ohio, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and workflows. You will provide hands‑on engineering support across production and participate in new program launches to ensure safety, quality, and cost targets are met.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in manufacturing or process engineering, a related degree, and experience with lean methods, GD&T, and CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related technical field.
• 2–5 years in manufacturing/process engineering.
• Experience with lean manufacturing and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes, routings, and work instructions.
• Design, specify, and validate tooling, fixtures, gauges, and equipment to support production requirements.
• Lead process improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and structured problem‑solving methods to reduce scrap, rework, downtime, and cycle time.
• Support new product launches, including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, process flow diagrams, control plans, and run‑at‑rates.
• Analyze process capability, cycle times, and throughput to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
• Lead equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and qualification for new and replacement machinery.
• Provide hands‑on engineering support to resolve production, tooling, and equipment issues in real time.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Production, and Tool & Die to improve process stability and product quality.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, routings, drawings, and process specifications.
• Support automation and robotics integration, including weld, assembly, and material‑handling processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, customer‑specific requirements)
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
