Job summary

CesiumAstro, Inc. in Austin, TX, is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II to assemble, inspect, and test mechanical and electrical components following established procedures.

You will collaborate with engineering, quality, production control, and supply chain to ensure quality and timely manufacturing. The role requires hands-on manufacturing experience with tools, measuring devices, and documentation, plus familiarity with MES/ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical certification, formal occupational training, military training, or equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing technology, industrial technology, electronics technology, mechanical technology, or a related technical field preferred.
• 0-3 years of related experience in manufacturing, production assembly, mechanical assembly, electronics assembly, or related production operations.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and manufacturing documentation.
• Understanding of quality standards, inspection techniques, production processes, and safe manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electrical components, subassemblies, and products using approved work instructions, engineering drawings, and manufacturing procedures.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, production equipment, and test equipment supporting manufacturing activities.
• Perform production tasks, troubleshoot routine assembly issues, and maintain established quality and productivity standards.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections using measuring equipment and inspection tools.
• Verify completed assemblies meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Record production, inspection, traceability, and nonconformance information in manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, production control, and supply chain teams supporting production activities.
• Support material handling, equipment setup, inventory accuracy, workstation organization, and continuous production flow.
• Communicate production status, quality concerns, equipment issues, and improvement opportunities to supervisors and team members.
• Apply manufacturing procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, and company policies throughout production.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while supporting 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Recommend improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency.
