Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX is seeking an Assembly Technician I to support assembly, integration, inspection and testing of products following established manufacturing procedures. You will produce quality hardware and learn manufacturing processes to meet engineering, manufacturing and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Associates degree, technical certification, formal occupational training, military training, or equivalent hands‑on experience in manufacturing technology, industrial technology, electronics technology, mechanical technology, or a related technical field preferred.
• Less than 1 year of related experience in manufacturing, production assembly, mechanical assembly, electronics assembly, or related production operations.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electrical components, subassemblies, and products using approved work instructions, drawings, and manufacturing procedures.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, production equipment, and test equipment supporting manufacturing activities.
• Perform routine production tasks while maintaining established quality and productivity standards.
• Perform basic visual and dimensional inspections using measuring equipment and inspection tools.
• Verify completed assemblies meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Record production, inspection, and traceability information in manufacturing documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, production control, and supply chain teams supporting production activities.
• Support material handling, workstation organization, equipment preparation, and inventory accuracy.
• Communicate production status, quality concerns, and equipment issues to supervisors and team members.
• Follow manufacturing procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, and company policies.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while supporting 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Recommend improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency.
