IDEAL ELECTRIC COMPANY, a 121-year-old American-owned electric motor and generator manufacturer, is seeking a talented Manufacturing Technician to join our on-site team in Mansfield, Ohio. Reporting to the Assembly Supervisor, the Manufacturing Technician plays an integral role in the production of Ideal's specialty motors and generators. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform assembly, spot welding, machine operation, stacking, pole winding, and welding, in the manufacture of quality products
  • Operate cranes and powered industrial trucks (PIT) as directed
  • Operate a variety of measurement tools and hand tool types including manual, hydraulic, and pneumatic
  • Complete tasks following work instructions/procedures and according to drawings and prints
  • Complete and submit manufacturing, quality, and other company required documents when necessary
  • Coordinate work efforts with Engineering department as needed
  • Contribute to workplace safety by following safety policies and practicing good housekeeping protocols
  • Support company’s quality objectives by following quality policies and procedures
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
  • High School Diploma or certified equivalent
  • Minimum of two years working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to read and understand prints, use logic, and troubleshoot problems
  • Teamwork approach with excellent communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time-management skills
  • Experience operating various manufacturing equipment, forklifts, and overhead cranes is helpful
WORKING CONDITIONS AND WORK HOURS
  • Daily minimum of 8 hours. Weekly 40 hours minimum. Overtime as required, subject to production schedules and may vary based upon specific department and customer needs.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen/hear, read, and count
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to enter small and/or confined spaces
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb, or balance
  • The employee must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, and to climb ladders and scaffolding to heights of 20 feet with regularity
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
