Job summary

Altria in Richmond, VA is seeking a Team Lead to guide manufacturing teams through leadership, coaching and strategic execution. You will translate business goals into actionable plans, manage staffing and resources, and drive continuous improvement.

You should have an associates degree or apprenticeship and at least three years of leadership experience in manufacturing, with comfort in lean principles and problem-solving, and be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or state-approved apprenticeship required.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing or related area.
• Experience in production maintenance helpful.
• Familiarity with Quality Systems / Lean Principles in manufacturing is preferred.
• Ability to coach and lead employees in a team-based environment.
• Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead resources and staffing to meet production and project goals.
• Develop and sustain problem solving, continuous improvement, and decision-making skills.
• Mentor teams for performance improvement and recognize achievements.
• Set and monitor actionable measures linking unit performance to broader objectives.
• Coordinate troubleshooting, maintenance activities, and schedule adherence.
• Share information to focus problem solving and process improvements.
