The intern will help review programs, develop training curriculums, assist with incident investigations, and contribute to safety initiatives in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Safety and Occupational Health or related field.
• Cumulative GPA 3.0 or above.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Outstanding communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Familiar with manufacturing and safety principles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct written program/procedure reviews and develop training curriculums based on these programs.
• Assist with accident investigations and follow-up with required corrective action.
• Develop and/or update safety and health training programs for various business units.
• Provide daily support to the safety department on a variety of safety projects.
• Assist and conduct internal compliance and injury reduction assessments to include follow through.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and provide recommendations on potential improvements.
• Quantify and present safety & health statistics to the management team.
• Support and manage the Safety Management System (SMS).
• All other duties and projects as assigned.
