Job summary

General Motors seeks a Quality Engineer to support the implementation of Quality Systems on an onsite basis at Bay City, MI. The role involves responding to gage failures, root-cause investigations, containment actions, and disposition of out-of-process material, with off-shift coverage as needed.

The candidate will lead quality system initiatives, participate in audits, and collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure product quality and process control while pursuing continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 3 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• High level of analytical ability for unusual and difficult problems.
• Strong communication skills and comfortable presenting to large groups and management.
• Ability to work off-shift and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead or work within teams to develop and implement Quality Systems and procedures (OSTS, process control plans, product quality standards, PFMEAs, gaging and inspection).
• Support MQRR audit process and plant launch operations wall (PLOW).
• Act as a Voice of Quality and promote GMS/BIQ principles in launches.
• Coordinate training on part and product quality and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Drive continuous improvement and seek opportunities to improve current practices.
