Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Michigan is seeking an Industrial Engineer to establish and maintain labor standards, methods, and process flow across the plant, using time studies, ergonomics evaluations, and value stream mapping to drive continuous improvement.

You will develop cycle line layouts, coordinate changes, and support production with manpower planning while collaborating with supervision and the union to resolve issues and deliver cost savings.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through root cause analysis.
  • Experience in establishing labor standards, methods and workflow.
  • Proficient in ergonomics evaluations and value stream mapping.
  • Skilled at time studies and MODAPTS analysis.
  • Able to develop cycle line layouts using ACAD and coordinate changes with teams.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and union collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain labor standards, methods, and process flow across the plant.
  • Drive continuous improvement, cost savings, and manpower utilization.
  • Review plant layout, processes, and routing changes.
  • Conduct time and motion/MODAPTS studies and review proposals.
  • Develop cycle line layouts and allocate methods across models.
  • Coordinate engineering changes and value stream mapping.
  • Interface with supervision and the UAW to resolve disputes.
