Job summary

Leoforce is seeking a Permanent Project Engineer in Lynchburg, VA to drive manufacturing projects and process improvements. You will lead multiple initiatives, apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure safe, compliant operations while delivering on time and within budget.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering (or related field) and 5+ years in manufacturing, with strong PM skills and effective communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Process Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, Industrial Engineering and Project Management.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment and quality standards.
• Excellent project management skills with ability to lead multiple projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels.
• Proficient with project management software and other computer applications.
• PM or Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple manufacturing projects from inception to completion.
• Drive process improvements to boost productivity and reduce waste.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to identify and remove inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new processes and equipment.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing teams to optimize operations.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans with objectives, timelines and budgets.
• Conduct regular project reviews and updates with stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
