Job summary

Magna Powertrain in Sterling Heights, MI, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive process improvements in a fast-paced plant. You will own process flow, PFMEA, equipment specifications, and rollout, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve quality, safety, and cost goals.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in manufacturing, strong knowledge of lean and Six Sigma, with experience in process documentation, CAD/ERP/MRP, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, CI methodologies, and lean principles.
• Experience with process optimization, root cause analysis, and problem solving.
• Proficiency with process documentation, technical drawings, and standards.
• Familiarity with quality systems and SPC; Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred.
• Good project management and organizational skills; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Establish process flow and operations for new quotes.
• Lead PFMEA with cross-functional teams.
• Set specifications for new equipment and obtain quotes.
• Roll out equipment and processes to the plant floor.
• Create standardized work and job element sheets for rollouts.
• Coordinate as main contact for manufacturing projects.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and CIP submissions.
• Update plant layout drawings with cross-functional teams.
• Develop in-process prints and production tools, including GD&T and CAD updates.
• Provide technical support to sales/customers for cost proposals.
• Maintain records and share engineering standards and specs.
