Job summary

Valmont Industries in Brenham, TX is seeking a Developmental Operations Manager to lead day-to-day production for steel fabrication/assembly on a multi-shift basis. You will supervise frontline supervisors, manage safety, quality and scheduling, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

The role includes budgeting, financial forecasting, and HR fundamentals with potential advancement to site leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or an Associate’s with 8+ years.
• Supervisory or management experience overseeing employees in an industrial environment.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cost controlling in manufacturing.
• Thorough knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Strong leadership to support divisional objectives and Lean practices.
• Willingness to travel 10–15% and relocate if required.
• Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day production across multi-shift operations.
• Lead frontline supervisors to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
• Execute master production schedule and capacity planning.
• Develop strategies to achieve product line objectives.
• Ensure environmental and safety compliance per policy and regulation.
• Drive continuous improvement and waste reduction using Lean tools.
• Coordinate with other sites and support P&L responsibilities.
