Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Farmington, MN seeks a manufacturing supervisor to lead safe, profitable operations in a multi-shift environment. You will manage scheduling, equipment care, quality, and cost control while coaching a diverse team.

This role requires 3–5 years supervision in metal fabrication, strong communication and organizational skills, lean/continuous improvement experience, and proficiency with IFS/ERP systems. Travel to other facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of supervisor experience in metal fabrication.
• High School Diploma or GED; college degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of IFS or MRP/ERP systems and strong computer skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong leadership and manufacturing process knowledge.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Lean/continuous improvement practices.
• Experience with kitting operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Satisfy customers through quality products and on-time deliveries.
• Achieve high plant productivity via continuous improvement.
• Maintain an effective maintenance program and personnel.
• Direct plant supervision to minimize rejects, reworks, and field problems.
• Stay current with new manufacturing technology and equipment.
• Lead and advise safety programs to reduce accidents.
• Maintain secure plant with minimal loss of tools/inventory.
• Implement and maintain an effective MRO storeroom.
• Evaluate man-hour requirements for large jobs to assist sales.
• Review reports to analyze department and employee performance.
• Maintain positive employee relations and support SBO plans.
• Collaborate with Accounting to meet financial goals.
• Interact with Human Resources on employee issues and travel to other facilities.
