Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the engineering group focused on meeting production, quality, and cost objectives.

The role emphasizes project management, methods improvement, plant layouts, tooling design, and manufacturing planning. Responsibilities include directing engineers, managing capital/expense projects, driving lean initiatives, and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering with minimum 10 years of experience.
• Ability to lead professional people with strong leadership and motivate toward objectives.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks within Manufacturing Engineering and provide direction.
• Ability to set goals and direction for teams and empower actions.
• Good understanding of end use of the product, its function, and design elements.
• Strong communication skills in technical and non-technical contexts.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Manufacturing Engineering group and engineers to meet divisional goals.
• Manage capital and expense projects from identification to installation.
• Solve manufacturing problems related to cost, capacity, planning, safety, quality, or manufacturability.
• Partner with lean team to deploy lean culture (kaizen, 5S).
• Develop and engineer in-house tools, fixtures, and programs.
• Develop manpower and budget plans and control expenses.
• Create action plans to meet forecasts and division goals.
• Provide training and performance reviews to subordinates.
• Establish work procedures to ensure flow and accuracy, and prioritize schedules.
• Implement company policies and keep leadership informed.
• Engage in professional societies and stay updated on industry advances.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and QA to maintain tolerances and workmanship standards.
