Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector seeks a Manufacturing Mission Assurance Engineer – Level 1 or 2 to join our team in Promontory, UT or Clearfield, UT. The Manufacturing Tool Quality Engineer develops, establishes and maintains Mission Assurance policies and procedures, processes and controls for manufactured products.

The position operates on a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off and may require up to 25% travel. A STEM degree and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 0–2 years of professional experience (Level 1).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing Techniques and SPC processes.
• Ability to interpret blue prints and specifications; GD&T knowledge.
• Experience with manufacturing processes; machining or dimensional inspection.

Responsibilities

• Conduct source inspections at vendor sites to ensure quality before shipment.
• Understand tool design intent, failure modes, requirements and specs.
• Provide quality guidance in tooling design reviews to capture requirements.
• Author inspection plans for new tooling and periodic inspections.
• Serve as liaison between S&MA and government or vendors as needed.
• Collaborate with operating entities to ensure audits and SPC analyses are conducted.
