Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector seeks a Quality Engineer at Level 2 or Level 3 to join our Promontory, UT team. The role focuses on establishing and maintaining mission assurance policies, ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance, and supporting multiple value streams with a 4/10 schedule and Fridays off.

The position requires a STEM degree with relevant experience, strong problem-solving ability, and excellent communication. On-site work in Promontory, UT is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2 years of professional experience (Level 2).
• Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience (Level 2).
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years (Level 3) OR Master’s 3 years OR PhD 1 year (Level 3).
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in team environments.
• Proven technical aptitude and ability to problem solve complex technical issues.
• Proven ability to multi-task (i.e. manage several projects at one time).
• Excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Understand the design intent, failure modes, requirements and specifications of the product and manufacturing processes.
• Identify opportunities and develop/execute plans to take promoting/capitalizing actions.
• Provide expertise in interpreting governmental regulations, agency guidelines and internal policies/procedures.
• Assure compliance and liaison between Promontory Safety and Mission Assurance and other organizations.
• Work with operating entities to ensure inspections, SPC analyses, and audits are conducted as specified.
