Job summary

Armstrong World Industries is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our Salt Lake City team. The role provides foundational technical support for manufacturing software, infrastructure, and applications, with on-site or remote troubleshooting to ensure business continuity.

You will grow through hands-on experience in real-world manufacturing IT, collaborating with Analysts and Architects, and supporting day-to-day operations across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering or related field with AI/ML basics.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Exposure to AI/ML coursework or foundational certifications preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Working knowledge of application architecture in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• AI & Data Support: assist troubleshooting and documentation for AI tools and data sets.
• Application Support: basic configuration, testing, and maintenance of business applications.
• Requirements Gathering: document processes and identify technical needs.
• Change Management: draft specifications and perform initial validation testing.
• Project Assistance: support small systems or projects and meet timelines.
• Documentation: maintain up-to-date process and topology docs.
• Operational Maintenance: monitor system performance and daily ops.
• Incident Response: act as first point of contact for incidents and escalate as needed.
• Standardization: follow best practices for global manufacturing sites.
• Vendor Coordination: assist data collection for vendors and tickets.
• Continuous Learning: build knowledge toward Analyst level.
