Job summary

General Motors is seeking Industrial Engineer interns to analyze manufacturing operations and improve layouts, labor and material flow, under mentorship. This hands-on role offers exposure to real-world process improvements in a large manufacturing environment.

Successful candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering, will graduate between Aug 2027 and Jun 2029, and can commit to full-time, 40 hours per week at one of several GM plants. Start dates are May 24 and June 14, 2027.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
• Must be graduating between August 2027 and June 2029.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Must be willing to work in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Confirms or recommends changes to layouts, labor control and/or material control.
• Frequent contact with others outside the work group.
• Assists in developing accurate methods and optimum operation layout.
• Makes operation descriptions and performs the vital calculations to complete studies and change routines or other systems of labor and material control.
