Job summary

LHH in Charlotte, NC seeks an HR Manager to lead the day-to-day HR operations for a manufacturing client. The role partners with plant leadership to support staffing, employee relations, performance management, training, compensation, benefits administration, and compliance initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of HR experience in manufacturing, solid knowledge of employment law, and relevant certifications. This is a hands-on, tactical role focusing on execution and employee engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience in manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or production environments.
• Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, and HR best practices.
• Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Professional certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day HR function for a manufacturing client, ensuring compliance and workforce planning.
• Serve as primary point of contact for employee relations matters, investigations, and policy interpretation.
• Coach managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and employee development.
• Promote employee engagement and support retention initiatives.
• Support performance review processes, goal setting, and leadership development.
• Maintain HR policies and employee handbook updates.
• Administer benefits programs, open enrollment activities, and compensation reviews.
• Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and training programs; ensure compliance training completion.
• Maintain accurate HRIS data, generate turnover/hiring reports, and assist with budgeting and workforce planning.
