Job summary

Magna International is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support payroll, staffing, recruitment, and employee relations in a manufacturing setting. You will maintain job descriptions, assist the HR Manager, and serve as a trusted resource for associates and leadership on HR matters.

The role requires strong communication, organizational and project management skills, plus a solid understanding of HR practices.

Qualifications

• Three years experience in human resources field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations
• Excellent oral and written communications and presentation skills with the ability to respond to questions from internal and external customers
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to multitask
• Strong understanding of the human resources body of knowledge
• Computer experience

Responsibilities

• Administer payroll programs according to company policies and guidelines.
• Work with production leadership to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained.
• Work with external agencies when needed.
• Conduct recruiting activities to support production requirements.
• Ensure internal promotion process is followed according to company policies and completed in timely manner.
• Maintain job descriptions and associate handbook to current levels.
• Provide a resource to floor associates and leadership team in employee relations issues.
• Follow and support MBCI’s and Magna’s operating principles.
• Provide necessary support to Human Resources Manager and serves as backup in the manager’s absence.
• Assist in the maintenance of the human resources associate information databases.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
