Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking a Facilities Manager for a large, automated production campus in Bedford Park, IL. This on-site role leads facility systems, infrastructure, and engineering within a century-old, family-owned manufacturer of personal care products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Facilities Management, or equivalent certifications and 5+ years of leadership in manufacturing facilities.
• 7+ years of plant/facilities management experience in manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC, boilers, and electrical distribution.
• Experience managing multiple contractors across trades and projects.
• Strong budgeting and scheduling skills; effective cross-department communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HVAC, boilers, stationary engineering, building maintenance, and related systems.
• Manage on-site contractors across electrical and civil trades.
• Oversee wastewater treatment and regulatory compliance.
• Develop budgets, scopes, and schedules for infrastructure upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with codes and OSHA safety standards.
• Identify and lead facility improvement initiatives end-to-end.
