Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering in Ohio to lead end-to-end development and optimization of manufacturing processes, systems, and metrics, driving continuous improvement, material management, productivity and quality.

You will collaborate across functions, supervise MES data, capacity planning, layout planning, scheduling, and Lean/Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and boost efficiency in a dynamic onsite environment.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of experience in an industrial engineering role.
• 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Expertise in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles is desired.
• Knowledge of SQL or other computer languages to aid data mining.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing process improvements and achieving efficiency gains.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision making.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Manufacturing Engineering department, including setting goals, prioritizing projects, resolving issues, and communicating performance expectations and results.
• Manage MES data for production routes, identify and optimize constraints to enhance OEE and throughput.
• Implement PFEP (Plan for Every Part) and develop capacity models to forecast resource levels.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing process time standards used in product costing and capacity planning models.
• Support cleanroom layout planning to optimize space, logistics, and workflow.
• Establish reporting mechanisms and key metrics to monitor performance and bottlenecks.
• Oversee production scheduling to ensure efficient resource allocation and on-time delivery, with FPS scheduler knowledge as a plus.
• Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce waste and drive Smart Manufacturing transformation.
• Perform additional duties to support departmental and organizational goals.
