Job summary

Vertiv in Westerville, Ohio, seeks a Mechanical Engineering Manager to supervise and lead Mechanical Engineers and third-party teams. You’ll own project execution from design through production and delivery, optimizing for quality and budget across IT, Telecom and Industrial data-center contexts.

You’ll coordinate Structural, Architectural, Thermal, Electrical, and BMS disciplines, work with customers and suppliers, travel domestically 15-20%, and drive engineering processes while mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or demonstrated engineering experience.
• PE license optional.
• Experience reading construction drawings and equipment specs.
• Familiarity with NEC, NBC, IBC, NFPA70.
• Knowledge of data center equipment basics.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the post-sales Mechanical Engineering team and oversee project execution from design through production and delivery.
• Lead the team to design within quality and budget constraints.
• Coordinate all engineering disciplines across Vertiv and third-party engineers.
• Collaborate with other Vertiv units and suppliers to select equipment meeting requirements.
• Interact with customers and their engineering teams to align designs with needs.
• Coordinate site work with the customer’s GC and manage civil, HVAC, and structural designs.
• Ensure compliance with NBC, IBC, NEC and related codes.
• Support onsite operations, trouble-shoot, and review procedures.
• Travel 15–20% domestically and provide engineering evaluations and startup support.
• Create and improve engineering plans and supervision of staff evaluations.
