Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to enhance steel manufacturing operations and drive operational excellence through design, implementation, and ongoing improvement of processes and systems.

You will partner with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and EHS to ensure stable, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing while boosting throughput and reducing cost and waste. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and process reliability on the plant floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or related field preferred.
• 3–7 years of experience in a manufacturing or steel production environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Experience with process data analysis, SPC, and continuous improvement methods.
• Ability to work effectively on the plant floor in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day engineering support for production issues, downtime events, and yield losses.
• Lead efforts to analyze and improve manufacturing processes, focusing on cost reduction, cycle time, quality enhancement, and throughput.
• Collaborate with R&D and design engineering to influence product designs for manufacturability and scalability.
• Develop and validate manufacturing processes for new products, including tooling, equipment, and work instructions.
• Manage complex manufacturing projects, including equipment upgrades and layout changes.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of process documentation, SOPs, and technical specifications.
• Provide training on new processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
• Act as a technical resource for troubleshooting and problem-solving across production teams.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to address recurring issues and improve process reliability.
