Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2 for the McClellan, CA area. The role directs production planning, staffing, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products.

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years in manufacturing leadership, hands-on experience with SAP and Solumina, and a track record in implementing Lean/continuous improvement strategies within a high-tech environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field; 8+ years in manufacturing/engineering leadership.
Minimum of 2 years of direct people or project leadership in manufacturing/production, operations, or engineering.
Experience with SAP and Solumina.
Experience with AS9100D requirements.
U.S. Citizen; ability to obtain Top-Secret clearance.
Strong project management experience in manufacturing/engineering.

Responsibilities

Direct production activities to plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules in a fast-paced environment.
Oversee work-in-process, material availability, and potential production problems.
Allocate staffing to maximize efficiency and yields.
Lead fabrication, assembly, production control, and material services teams.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams across Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering and Business Management.
Lead and optimize manufacturing operations to improve productivity and reduce cost.
