Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2 to lead production planning, staffing, and continuous improvement at the McClellan, CA site. The role requires strong leadership, program management, and a focus on quality and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive manufacturing experience, SAP/Solumina proficiency, and the ability to guide cross-functional teams through complex production challenges while maintaining a Top-Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 8+ years experience; advanced degrees may reduce requirement.
• 2+ years leading manufacturing/production or engineering projects or teams.
• Experience with SAP and Solumina in manufacturing settings.
• AS9100D quality system knowledge or experience.
• U.S. Citizen, eligible for Top-Secret clearance.
• PM experience in manufacturing/engineering.

Responsibilities

• Direct production activities to plan, prepare, issue, and control schedules.
• Oversee work-in-process and material availability to avoid bottlenecks.
• Allocate staffing to maximize efficiency and yields.
• Lead manufacturing teams across fabrication, assembly, and material services.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication.
• Develop strategies to improve productivity, reduce cost, and ensure quality.
• Maintain site MES procedures, work instructions, forms, and SOPs.
• Develop BOEs for potential contracts and manufacturing proposals.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing manufacturing team.
• Implement continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and improve safety and delivery.
