Challenge Manufacturing is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the plant engineering group in Spartanburg, SC. You will direct engineers to maximize efficiency, drive process improvements, and coordinate launches with cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (BSME preferred) and a strong track record in manufacturing engineering leadership, budgeting, and PFMEA. ESOP participation is a key cultural benefit of joining the team.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a manufacturing engineering group in a plant setting.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; professional engineering credentials preferred.
• Strong background in product launch, PFMEA, and budget planning.

Responsabilités

• Plans, develops and implements Manufacturing Engineering department policies and goals.
• Schedules and prioritizes activities to launch new programs and reduce downtime.
• Directs Manufacturing and Controls Engineers to improve efficiency and quality.
• Develops plans for new product launches and coordinates with other departments.
• Assists with PFMEA, vendor quotes, and standard work processes.
• Analyzes production/maintenance data to cut costs and delays.
• Reviews budgets and reallocates resources; approves department requisitions.
• Oversees equipment specs, tooling, and program equipment qualifications.
