Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Michigan is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement cost-effective processes that meet product specs and quality standards. You will launch new or revised assemblies, optimize flow, and lead Lean initiatives across the plant.

The role requires a BS in Engineering, experience with automated assembly, cell layouts, GD&T, and tools such as AutoCad and Plexus. You’ll work cross-functionally with teams and mentors, focusing on safety, ownership, and

Qualifications

BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or equivalent experience.
Automated assembly experience.
Cell layout experience.
MS Office experience.
BIW product understanding & experience.
Sheet metal fabrication and assembly experience.
GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes, including production flow and assembly methods.
Prepares layouts of buildings and equipment and coordinates manufacturing launches for new/revised products.
Designs, develops, tests, sources and cost-justifies tools, machinery and equipment for manufacturing methods.
Leads lean manufacturing initiatives including cost reductions and productivity improvements.
