Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is offering an internship in Manufacturing Engineering in High Point, NC. Interns will work with production teams to analyze processes, conduct time studies, support product launches, and help improve safety, quality, productivity, and ergonomics.

Successful interns will gain hands-on experience, collaborate with engineers, and may transition to a full-time role based on performance and business needs. The program runs this summer starting May/June.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program or higher, or have recently graduated within 1 year.
• Pursuing a degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical production of goods.
• Ensure manufacturing processes are complete and ready for SOP when product changes occur.
• Perform time studies on manufacturing processes to ensure accuracy.
• Develop business cases for new and current products.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Analyze product designs for the best method of manufacturing.
• Specifies tools, equipment, and processes to produce a part or assembly or evaluate processes in assigned areas.
• Supports the design and building of tools and equipment or recommends improvements to existing processes to improve quality and throughput.
• Participates in teams and cross-functional groups.
• Identify process improvements in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity
• Provide assistance for prototype, pilot, and production support.
• Incorporate ergonomics into safety, productivity, and performance
• Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture where everyone belongs
