Job summary

Daimler Truck North America seeks a Safety Intern to support our NC/SC sites, reviewing policies and performance metrics while learning how DTNA Safety Team builds a stronger safety culture. You will participate in hazard assessments, training reviews, and frontline engagement under the guidance of subject-matter experts.

The role offers real-world experience, with opportunities to transition to full-time based on performance. Travel between NC and SC is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's program or recently graduated within 1 year.
• Knowledge of safety & health regulations (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI).
• Ability to perform hazard assessments.
• PowerBI experience is preferred.
• Willingness to travel to NC/SC manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities

• Review safety policies, procedures, and performance metrics.
• Identify gaps and align programs with OSHA standards.
• Engage employees in feedback sessions to understand challenges.
• Conduct site walkthroughs and JHAs to identify hazards.
• Use risk matrices to prioritize hazards by severity and likelihood.
• Document findings and implement corrective actions with timelines.
• Review training content for relevance and clarity.
• Contribute to real-life case studies and interactive elements.
