Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking Manufacturing Engineering Interns for Byesville, OH. Interns will support plant operations, assist with process improvements, tooling and fixture design, and various manufacturing engineering projects that enhance safety, quality and productivity.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree or higher or recently graduated within 1 year
• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Controls Engineering or similar
• Ability to read and create electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
• Competency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and NX
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and in hands-on manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

• Draft and design tooling, fixtures and workstations to support manufacturing needs and process improvements
• Conduct industrial engineering activities including time studies, plant layouts, ergonomic assessments and workstation development
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, vendors and leadership on product specifications and process enhancements
• Apply problem-solving techniques to analyze production issues and develop practical solutions
• Support engineering activities related to plant layouts, equipment verification, precision machining and gauging
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation (routings, BOMs, work instructions)
• Perform Gage R&R studies and statistical analysis to support quality and process performance
