Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support plant operations with process improvements, tooling and fixture design, and Lean initiatives. Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's program or recently graduated within 1 year
• Must be in a co-op program
• Pursuing Mechanical/Manufacturing/Controls Engineering or similar
• Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
• Proficiency with Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD and NX
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, machining, fabrication, and assembly
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and hands-on in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Draft tooling, fixtures, and workstations for manufacturing needs and process improvements
• Conduct industrial engineering activities like time studies and plant layouts
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, vendors, and leadership on specs and capabilities
• Apply problem-solving to analyze production issues and develop practical solutions
• Support plant layouts, equipment verification, and gauging activities
• Create and maintain routings, BOMs, and work instructions
• Perform Gage R&R studies, machine qualifications, and statistical analysis
• Develop understanding of manufacturing processes and fuel system products
• Support Lean initiatives through workshops and process improvement projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote safety and operational excellence
