Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, Supplier Development (Starlink) in Redmond, WA. You will work across design, materials, and manufacturing teams to optimize supplier quality and production flow for satellite hardware.

You will collaborate with procurement and engineering to define requirements, manage PPAP, and drive improvements with suppliers, while supporting long-term cost reductions and schedule adherence. This role requires onsite work in Redmond.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM field.
  • 2+ years in manufacturing, supply chain engineering, supplier development/quality, or design engineering.
  • Internship experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Improve quality, cost, delivery, and capacity metrics for mechanical hardware used in Starlink satellites.
  • Collaborate with design, materials, and manufacturing engineers to understand part design intent.
  • Support procurement to strategically source parts and review supplier processes and quality systems.
  • Create and define supplier technical and quality requirements for NPI and production phases.
  • Lead resolution of supplier quality issues through root cause analysis and liaison between purchasing, engineering, production, and suppliers.
  • Define product technical requirements and ensure supplier compliance.
  • Implement PPAP with selected suppliers to enable rate production.
  • Analyze supplier quality and delivery metrics to identify trends and gaps for improvement.
  • Identify potential new suppliers and capabilities in manufacturing and metrology.
  • Drive product and process improvements to lower costs, reduce risk, and improve cycle time.
  • Establish strong relationships and regular communication with suppliers.
