Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Supplier Development Engineer for Starlink to own hardware from supplier selection to high‑volume production. You will lead technical decisions across supplier, process, and field performance, collaborating with design, test, and supply chain teams.

Responsibilities include selecting capable suppliers, defining process windows, and driving new factory and process bring‑ups on space hardware lines, with significant international travel and extended hours during ramps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in supplier development, manufacturing or related engineering.
• Experience driving a supplier, design, or process from conception to production.
• Experience owning outcomes related to yield, quality, and performance.
• Experience in semiconductor/packaging, PCB fabrication/assembly, mechanical fabrication, or electromechanical assembly.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware from selection to scale for Starlink products, including technology/supplier/process choices.
• Select and develop suppliers to meet quality and rate requirements; switch suppliers when needed.
• Define process window and evidence of capability before rate.
• Bring up new designs, factories, and processes; work on the floor to debug and improve.
• Perform reliability and quality work: failure analysis, test/screen strategy, CFME/CA, and field-to-factory feedback.
• Make technical decisions with design, test, and supply chain teams, and own field results.
• Scale proven processes; discontinue what will not scale.
• Own escapes into customer deployments and sites.
