Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for Solar (Starlink) in Redmond, WA to drive electro-mechanical assembly and test processes, collaborating with design to ensure manufacturability and leading prototype builds toward production milestones. You will work with high-volume production targets, tooling, automation opportunities, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required.
  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or related experience.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement electro-mechanical assembly and test processes.
  • Collaborate with the mechanical design team to incorporate design for manufacturability.
  • Lead prototype builds ensuring milestones for production development are met.
  • Ensure manufacturing systems hit high volume, cost and quality targets.
  • Lead facilities development, floor layout, headcount planning and material flow definition.
  • Identify tooling and hardware requirements and integrate them into production processes.
  • Identify automation opportunities and assess ROI for each.
  • Work with internal resources or vendors to develop and implement on the production line.
