Job summary

SpaceX seeks a Manufacturing Engineer - Supplier Development for Starlink in Redmond, WA. You will drive supplier development, improve quality, cost, delivery, and capacity of satellite hardware through close collaboration with design, materials, and manufacturing teams.

This high-profile role requires 2+ years in manufacturing or supplier quality, and a strong ability to lead cross-functional projects, implement PPAP, and manage supplier performance in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or STEM discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain engineering, supplier development/quality, or design engineering (internship experience applicable).
  • Proven ability to take ownership and collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

  • Improve quality, cost, delivery, and capacity metrics for mechanical hardware in satellites.
  • Collaborate with design, materials, and manufacturing engineers to understand part design intent.
  • Support procurement to strategically source parts with supplier competencies.
  • Define supplier technical and quality requirements for NPI and production.
  • Lead root-cause analysis to resolve supplier quality issues and liaise with purchasing, engineering, and suppliers.
  • Define product technical requirements and ensure supplier compliance.
  • Manage PPAP with suppliers to enable rate production.
  • Analyze supplier metrics to identify trends and drive improvement plans.
  • Identify new suppliers and capabilities in manufacturing and metrology.
  • Drive product and process improvements to lower costs and reduce risk.
