Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Huntsville, AL to lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems for BE engine production. You will work across engineering, quality, and supply chain to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance timelines.

The role emphasizes ADP/DFM, DFA, DFT, and advanced technologies, with relocation available and a safety-first culture in aerospace manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience in a manufacturing engineering role across levels (0-3, 3+, 5+, 8+ years).
• 1+ years of experience creating English work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT) for space vehicles.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to accelerate space manufacturing.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies (machining, welding, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
• Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines.
• Apply emerging AI technologies alongside traditional manufacturing engineering tools to optimize processes.
