Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Huntsville, AL to design for manufacturability and build robust processes for space vehicle production. You will work with design, quality, supply chain and production teams to drive reliability and efficiency across the factory floor.

Responsibilities include developing documentation, evaluating new technologies, and supporting root cause analyses to improve cycle times and first-pass yield.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical, manufacturing, electrical or aerospace engineering from an accredited university.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), design for test (DFT) to build reliable space vehicles.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes supporting mission goals.
• Collaborate with design, quality, supply chain and production teams to accelerate building to space.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs and inspection plans.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods (precision machining, welding, brazing, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
• Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances; implement corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.
• Ensure all work aligns with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality and safety standards.
• Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.
• Apply emerging AI technologies alongside traditional manufacturing tools to optimize processes, reduce cycle times and improve first-pass quality.
