Job summary

Intramotev is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the production team building our self-propelled battery-electric railcars and vehicles in St. Louis.

This role connects design engineering to the shop floor on a low-volume, high-mix build that spans new vehicles, retrofits, and modifications, both mechanical and electrical. The successful candidate will ensure designs are buildable, design tooling and station layouts, structure manufacturing BOMs for make/buy, and write work instructions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing.
• DFM/DFA experience collaborating with design engineers on hardware.
• CAD-based tooling, fixture, or layout design using Inventor or SOLIDWORKS.
• Experience structuring BOMs and supporting make/buy decisions in ERP/MRP, e.g., Odoo.
• Authored assembly work instructions used on a production floor.
• Comfortable on the shop floor, partnering with technicians.
• Willingness to expand into new technical areas; innovative problem solving.
• Fluent English, strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Design for Manufacturing (DFM/DFA) with design engineering.
• Design tooling, fixtures, and layouts in CAD and manage fabrication or purchase.
• Structure BOMs and routings in ERP/MRP so build aligns with assembly.
• Collaborate with supply chain on make/buy, sourcing, and materials.
• Write clear, illustrated work instructions for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
• Provide build-floor support, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Lead small process improvements to reduce cost and cycle time on low-volume line.
