Job summary

Intramotev is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer in St. Louis, MO to own electrical architecture for self-propelled battery-electric railcars. Lead a team of 4–6 engineers, drive HV energy storage, wiring, and ECUs from concept through production, with occasional travel for testing and demonstrations.

The role is 100% in-office, collaborating across disciplines on projects and with suppliers, to deliver safe, reliable powertrains for innovative freight mobility solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years electrical engineering and design experience for vehicles or complex industrial equipment.
• Demonstrated technical leadership of a team of engineers.
• Hands-on ownership across ECU/hardware, harness design, and HV energy systems.
• Experience taking electrical hardware from concept through production.
• Willingness to expand into other technical areas.
• Fluent in written and verbal English.
• U.S. Person; immigration/work visa sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical team’s direction and mentor engineers.
• Own electrical architecture across HV energy systems and control electronics.
• Define and own functional and performance requirements for all electrical components.
• Direct HV energy storage, distribution, and conversion, including charging and motor control.
• Drive ECU and remote I/O development from requirements to production.
• Own harness architecture, routing, and low-voltage distribution.
• Set design, test, and validation standards; drive production readiness.
• Manage supplier relationships and cross-functional interfaces.
