Job summary

The Kinetic Group in Lewiston, Idaho is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive tooling and process improvements for shell, primer and cartridge production. This role reports to the Centerfire Engineering Manager and requires collaboration with the new products group and manufacturing engineering to implement new lines.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s in engineering, strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, CAD/SolidWorks experience, and proficiency with Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent related experience.
• Strong mechanical skills and trouble shooting ability.
• CAD training, SolidWorks preferred.
• Computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets.
• Excellent mathematical, problem solving, written and verbal communications skills.
• Thorough understanding and broad application of technical standards, principles, theories, and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop tooling and process improvements for existing products and supervise tests.
• Investigate and troubleshoot production difficulties and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities in material use and efficiency.
• Review tool drawings and initiate engineering changes when justified.
• Assist with machine guarding design and OSHA-compliant installation.
• Collaborate with new products group to implement new products.
• Oversee major equipment projects including capex justification and scheduling.
• Review bills of materials and routes for accuracy and cost savings.
