Job summary

The Kinetic Group, a leader in small caliber ammunition, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to drive major capital and non-capital projects from Anoka, Minnesota. You will manage capital expenditures, design tooling and processes, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver improvements across high-volume metal parts manufacturing.

Responsibilities include cost reduction, process improvements, supplier qualification, and engineering change control.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering with 5+ years in an engineering role (material, process, manufacturing).
• 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years’ project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform major project management assignments including capital expenditure justification, equipment/process design and development, project spending, timing, resource management, and closeout activities.
• Develops improvements to tooling and processes for manufacture of existing products by changing specifications and supervising tests.
• Introduce new products and the tools to manufacture them in partnership with Product Development.
• Establish specifications and procedures under which new products will be made.
• Direct any special tests or limited production runs for standardization of new product.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities such as better material utilization and higher efficiency.
• Review tools and drawings for revisions and initiate Engineering Change Orders.
• Troubleshoot production material issues and implement corrective actions.
• Represent the organization as a technical contact on projects.
• Coordinate between organizations and senior personnel on technical matters.
• Identify and qualify new materials and suppliers.
• Ensure performance requirements are met while driving costs down.
• Document results and perform Engineering Change Orders on documentation.
• Perform FMEAs and analyze failure modes.
