Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for 1st shift to support and improve plant manufacturing processes. You will develop tooling, machinery, and production controls for new products, and ensure efficient equipment setup and operation.

The role requires solving production problems, coordinating new product introductions, and driving cost reductions through lean practices and capital investments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 1–3 years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience.
• Knowledge of formal problem solving methods and experience with financial controls and product costing.
• Lean manufacturing practices and procedures required; working knowledge of plant operations.
• In absence of a four-year degree, a minimum of six years experience acceptable.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint, and Internet/email.

Responsibilities

• Review specifications, cost estimates, and feasibility for orders and schedules.
• Develop processes, tooling, and production controls for new products; supervise assembly and proofing.
• Support production to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Coordinate new product development and cost reduction activities.
• Manage capital equipment planning and procurement activities.
• Lead Kaizen events and oversee labor routing, capacity planning, and TPM.
