Job summary

Johnson Controls International plc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineer, 1st shift, to support current manufacturing and drive continuous improvement in plant methods and processes. You’ll design tooling, develop production controls, and set up new equipment while teaching proper use and optimizing space to meet financial goals.

You will lead capital planning, cost reduction, and process development for new products, ensuring lean practices and safe operations across the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 1–3 years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience.
• Knowledge of formal problem solving methods along with financial controls and product costing.
• Experience with lean manufacturing practices and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Reviews specifications and bid proposals to establish feasibility, manufacturability and costs.
• Develops processes, tooling and production controls for new products and programs.
• Supports production to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Coordinates new product development and cost-reduction activities.
• Manages capital equipment planning and procurement.
• Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots manufacturing software.
• Plans work measurement and defines operations to TAKT time.
• Plans facility changes to meet forecasted volumes economically.
• Leads Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Responsible for labor routings, capacity planning, TPM, and cost estimating.
• Responsible for capital justification, CNC programming, tool design and selection.
• Reports work-related injuries and unsafe conditions to supervision.
