Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for 1st shift to support current manufacturing and drive continuous improvement in processes, tooling, and production controls. The role includes setting up new equipment, training operators, and applying lean methods to meet cost and quality goals.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Engineering or 6+ years of related experience, strong problem solving, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 1–3 years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience, or 6+ years with no 4-year degree.
  • Proficiency in formal problem solving methods and knowledge of financial controls and product costing.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews specs, bids, and cost estimates to assess feasibility, manufacturability, and delivery.
  • Develops processes, tooling, and production controls for new products and programs; supervises assembly and proofing.
  • Supports production to resolve manufacturing issues and leads cost-reduction activities.
