Job summary

Metallized Carbon Corporation in Ossining, NY is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, standardize, and improve manufacturing processes for quality, cost efficiency, and production reliability.

This role collaborates with production, quality, and maintenance to optimize workflows on CNC machining, programming, setup, fabrication, and assembly, while supporting new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role within an industrial, machining, or fabrication environment.
  • Proven experience with CNC machining processes, programming, set up, tooling design, and fixture development.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, process optimization, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Exposure to quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, or equivalent) and experience working cross-functionally with quality teams.
  • Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) and ability to create or interpret engineering drawings and models.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and standardize manufacturing processes, methods, and work instructions to improve productivity, consistency, and safety.
  • Analyze production data to identify and resolve process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and quality issues.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support on the shop floor, assisting operators and supervisors in problem-solving and technical troubleshooting.
  • Design and implement tooling, jigs, and fixtures to improve manufacturing accuracy, setup efficiency, and repeatability.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and CNC Programming teams to verify accuracy and conformity of parts and processes to specifications.
  • Evaluate and recommend manufacturing methods, equipment, and technology upgrades to support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing process flows, work instructions, and required tooling.
  • Ensure alignment with ISO/Quality Management Systems and other applicable standards and regulations.
  • Train production personnel on new or revised processes and support adherence to standard operating procedures.
