Job summary

Metallized Carbon Corporation is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer in Ossining, NY to lead data‑driven initiatives that improve product quality, reduce scrap and rework, increase yield, and boost efficiency across the production value stream.

You will partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to identify opportunities, implement sustainable solutions, and set standards for safety, delivery, and cost performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in continuous improvement, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering within industrial manufacturing.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge and problem‑solving methods; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
• Experience with data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, ERP/MES systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a company‑wide continuous improvement roadmap to reduce scrap, rework, defects, variation, and costs while improving quality, efficiency, yield, throughput, and on‑time delivery.
• Analyze production and quality data to identify trends and prioritize improvement opportunities.
• Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions using 5 Whys, fishbone, 8D, Pareto, and statistical tools.
• Collaborate with Quality and Operations to investigate nonconformances and verify sustained improvements.
• Provide hands‑on support on the manufacturing floor to test solutions and remove barriers to performance.
• Evaluate processes to improve workflow, capacity, cycle time, quality, and throughput across the value stream.
• Identify sources of scrap and delays; implement controls to prevent recurrence.
• Facilitate Lean activities like Kaizen, value‑stream mapping, 5S, standard work, and visual management.
• Document and standardize processes, work instructions, and performance expectations.
