Job summary
Oerlikon in Westbury, NY seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to plan, design and optimize manufacturing processes, including CNC programming and tooling, to support assembly, testing and delivery of components. You will drive process improvements, develop operation sheets and ERP data entries, and train staff on CNC setup.
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field, strong CAD/CAM/CNC knowledge, and 1–5 years of manufacturing experience.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or the related discipline.
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM and CNC programming is necessary.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and ability to apply manufacturing theories.
- Typically 1–2 years of directly related experience for degreed candidates; 5 years of varied machine shop/tooling experience appropriate for non-degreed.
Responsibilities
- Support production activities to meet shipment schedules through methods, tooling, and equipment modifications.
- Improve plant layouts for efficiency and cost reduction.
- Develop and document production operations, processes, and CNC programs as needed.
- Train personnel on CNC programming and setup.
