Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a result-driven Manufacturing Engineer to lead initiatives that establish and sustain a stable, efficient production flow. You will apply Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methods while developing and optimizing equipment for the production floor.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve OEE, yield, and downtime metrics, support NPI and ensure production readiness, and document SOPs to sustain best practices across the operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on process improvement.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Experience in designing, developing, or modifying manufacturing equipment and tooling.
• Hands‑on experience with production line optimization and process stabilization.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of stable production flows using Lean principles and CI tools.
• Analyze current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for waste reduction, efficiency improvements, and cost savings.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Kaizen, 5S, VSM, root cause analysis, and standard work.
• Develop, design, and improve manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes to support production requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational performance.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and ensure production readiness.
• Establish and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and SOPs.
• Monitor production performance metrics (OEE, yield, downtime) and implement corrective actions.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and implement long-term corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Train and mentor production staff on Lean tools and improved manufacturing practices.
