Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract role based in Bartlett, IL. The candidate will support capital projects, drive equipment reliability, and lead continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes data-driven analysis, safety, and regulatory compliance while collaborating with operations and maintenance teams. Responsibilities include FAT/SAT, downtime analysis, Kaizen involvement, and developing KPIs and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Manufacturing or related field.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting capital projects and manufacturing equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, execution, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment and capital improvement projects.
• Coordinate activities with equipment suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Track project scope, timelines, budgets, and deliverables to maintain project control and transparency.
• Participate in FAT/SAT to verify equipment performance and compliance.
• Analyze downtime and identify opportunities to improve reliability, throughput, and efficiency.
• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions to address issues.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Assist in developing equipment standards and maintenance best practices.
