Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for the 1st shift to support and improve plant manufacturing processes. You will develop tooling, machinery, and production controls for new products, set up equipment, and train staff on proper operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 1–3 years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience, or 6+ years with no 4-year degree.
• Experience with formal problem solving methods and financial controls & product costing.
• Lean manufacturing practices and procedures knowledge are required.

Responsibilities

• Support current manufacturing and facilitate continuous improvement of methods and processes.
• Develop tooling, machinery, and production controls for new products and programs.
• Set up new equipment and teach proper use; ensure operator safety and PPE compliance.
• Lead or participate in Kaizen events; manage labor routings, capacity planning, and cost estimation.
• Plan facility changes to meet forecasted volume and improve efficiency.
